BARRINGTON FIELDS
Board Member

Barrington Fields serves as Board Director for The Black Restitution Initiative, Inc., located in Manhattan, New York, and is assigned with the responsibilities of establishing strategic relationships to increase revenue sources including donations, grants, sponsorships, memberships, fees for service, merchandise sales, and investments.

Mr. Fields is a Cornell University graduate, with a BS in Business Administration with a focus in finance, marketing, and communication.  His journey began in the Bronx, NY, where he was born and raised in a Caribbean household of immigrant parents, and siblings from Kingston, Jamaica, pushing him to help visualize a path of success in life.  Despite the challenging surroundings of poverty, violence, and social issues in New York City, Mr. Fields was able to use the guidance and structure of his family to focus on stepping out of the diminished public school system, penetrating the downtown NYC private school administration, then striving within the Ivy League College community, and onto Wall Street.

Mr. Fields started his career as a Wall Street paralegal assisting in corporate defense matters for major Fortune 500 firms such as the Yankees organization, Sears & Roebuck, Caldor, and many others. After gaining extensive knowledge of the ins and outs of contract law, Mr. Fields found his way into the wireless telecommunications industry where he became a Market Director of Site Acquisition, and led his team in closing multiple cell site contracts, within the Metropolitan areas of New York and New Jersey, solidifying millions of dollars in yearly profits for Nextel, AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and T-Mobile.

Eight years of tenure with the biggest Site Acquisition firm in the wireless telecommunications industry gave Mr. Fields the necessary tools to start-up one of the first Black-owned, run, and employed, site acquisition companies to effectively manage major wireless carriers’ yearly budgets to develop and build out their wireless infrastructures using competitive, competent, and responsible vendors and suppliers to meet carrier's objectives.  The progression of his 25 years in the world of wireless telecommunication networks from 2G to 5G, and now into small-cell fiber delivery to public utilities, has enabled Mr. Fields to become a veteran and leader in the wireless telecommunications industry.

Mr. Fields has a strong passion for giving back to the community, forging paths for the disadvantaged, and being a beacon of light to those who are underprivileged and underrepresented.  Mr. Fields believes if the youth can see it, they can aspire to it, and they can achieve it, just as he did.

Mr. Field understands that uplifting the youth through education, technology, and work ethic, will foster in the reality that racial inequality, the homework gap, America’s digital divide, racial wealth gap, and poverty will soon be eliminated.
