The Black Restitution Initiative is Officially Incorporated as a Non-Profit in the State of New York
On December 6, 2022, The Black Restitution Initiative, Inc. (BRI), was incorporated as a Nonprofit organization in the State of New York, by its founder Marc A. Stephens. The organization’s headquarters is located in midtown Manhattan on 42nd Street.
Marc Stephens was born in Harlem, New York, and raised in the Bronx, and nearby Englewood, New Jersey. Stephens brings over 30 years of proven skills in negotiating, problem solving, and business development.
According to The Black Restitution Initiative, Inc. certificate of incorporation and bylaws, its mission is, “to provide educational, scientific, community, and financial resources to assist African Americans around the country with restoring themselves back to their original position of strong physical and mental health, advanced legal knowledge, homeowners, successful entrepreneurs, profitable business owners, and creating wealth independently to eliminate poverty within the black race”. In the United States, there are 39 million people living in poverty.
The Black Restitution Initiative, Inc. will start it’s mission in New York City. In New York City, according to Welfareinfo.org, a total of 1.5 million people live in poverty.
“The Black Restitution Initiative, Inc., is needed in order to reduce poverty around the United States of America, within the black community, by using modern technology”, says Marc Stephens.
Stephens has extensive knowledge in the wireless telecommunications industry. Stephens was responsible for contract negotiations with private landlords, municipalities, and the federal government in order to build the infrastructure of wireless cellphone networks around the United States for all major wireless telecommunication carriers including Cingular Wireless, Clearwire, MetroPCS, Nextel, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon. Stephens also worked as a consultant for American Towers Corporation, Bechtel Corporation, Alcatel-Lucent, and the global aerospace and military defense company, General Dynamics, Inc.
The Black Restitution Initiative, Inc., is preparing to take on three phenomenons that exist within black households around the United States called the “Homework Gap”, the “America’s Digital Divide”, and the “Racial Wealth Gap”.
In order to successfully take on these three phenomenons, the organization’s non-profit activities will consist of seven (7) programs for black low-income individuals, entrepreneurs, and business owners, which includes the (1) Online Monetization Program, (2) Physical and Mental Health Program, (3) Personal and Business Credit Program, (4) Legal Information Program, (5) Real Estate and Stock Market Investing Program, (6) Entrepreneurship Program, and (7) Business Start-up Program. All activities will be funded by several foundations, financial institutions, fundraising, grants, and donations.
The Black Restitution Initiative, Inc., will be forming strategic partnerships with non-profit foundations, domain and website hosting companies, computer manufacturers, discounted computer retailers, local government, and banks to assist those with low-income to obtain computers and internet access in order to generate an online income.
